sls | las vegas

Here's one from the archives.. a past Vegas trip!

I didn't get a chance to post about the first time I stayed at the (then) newly opened SLS Hotel in Las Vegas. Since then, I've had another stay at the hotel and loved it both times. I took the boyfriend for his birthday weekend back in October the first time, and the second was in February with some friends.

It's a reasonably priced luxury hotel, although a bit far from the center of the strip. If you're okay with taking a cab everywhere, then this hotel is great. There's a monorail stop right on the property, so there's that option for mode of transportation too. The interior is whimsical and fanciful, having been designed by Philippe Starck. The eateries are ones you can find in Los Angeles (Umami Burger, Bazaar by JOSÉ ANDRÉS, Cleo, Katsuya), so if you're an Angeleno, you'll feel right at home.

There are two towers with two different room interiors, the World Tower and Story Tower. We stayed in a World Tower king room the first time, and I prefer this design over the Story Tower rooms. This room had lighted mirrors that made for great selfies!

SLS has something for everyone in terms of party options. For the day party peeps, they have Foxtail Pool Club which wasn't open yet when we visited back in October but the pool area is expansive. For nightlife options, SLS has 3 clubs on the property: LiFE, Foxtail, and the Sayer's Club. If you're a guest staying at the hotel, free admission to the clubs is a perk. We opted to check out LiFE nightclub and it was definitely a mega-club worthy of the Vegas standard.

We had a gluttonous weekend, eating & drinking our way down the Vegas strip. Here are some highlights from the places we dined at:

Sushi Samba, Palazzo Hotel // Chocolate covered green tea ice cream lollipops dipped in pop rocks

Guy Fieri's Vegas Kitchen & Bar, The LINQ Hotel

Mandarin Bar , Mandarin Oriental // Perfect option for a quieter night out, with views of the strip.

Looking forward to another Vegas trip in the (very) near future!
